Meet Dr. Celine Woodford
Dr Celine is a 2003 graduate of Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College located in Toronto. She originally moved to Ireland to work and travel, but fell in love with the country and decided to make Ireland her home.
Chiropractic Changed Her Life
Dr Celine grew up as an avid athlete competing in rowing and swimming. She began experiencing frequent headaches and back pain. She sought the care of a chiropractor for her back pain and got great results.
After a MRI showed no apparent cause for her chronic headaches she decided to ask her chiropractor about options for treatment. It turned out that she had vertebrae out of line in her neck and after just 6-8 weeks of treatment she was headache free.
Chiropractic Helped Her Family
Arthritis runs in the family for Dr Celine. Her grandmother was severely crippled by arthritis and her father was headed down the same path. He consulted with an orthopaedic surgeon who said that he would need a hip replacement but recommended that he see a chiropractor to see if he could manage his pain and prolong the need for surgery.
After 10 years of chiropractic care, her father still does not require the hip replacement and does not need a wheelchair. His quality of life is far better than his mother’s was at age 50. Dr Celine also has arthritis, but because she began and maintained treatment at such a young age she has never had any problems.
Why Chiropractic
Dr Celine enjoys helping people and seeing them get better. She loves improving the quality of someone’s life and helping them get back to the things they enjoy. Whether you want to be able to walk to the shop, walk your dog, or get back to your golf game, she wants to help you get your life back.
A Rewarding Challenge
Providing chiropractic care can be both fulfilling and challenging. The most rewarding part for Dr Celine is having patients return to say “thank you” for giving them back something they thought they had lost. This may be something that we take for granted until it is taken from us such as picking up our children or working in the garden.
Dr Celine desires to have a solution for everyone and finds it challenging when chiropractic techniques are not the solution. On occasion a patient may need to be referred to a specialist.
On a Personal Note
Outside of providing gentle chiropractic care, Dr Celine is very active outdoors. She enjoyed playing rugby and has recently started competing in triathlons. She and her husband are expecting their first child and she looks forward to getting back to training soon.
A self-described foodie, Dr Celine enjoys cooking with her husband and trying different recipes, and the couple enjoys time with friends. She minored in music in college and likes playing the guitar and piano. Dr Celine looks forward to working with Special Olympics, an organisation that is close to her heart.
